Crate index

Reference · generated · every workspace crate by tier, with the description its manifest carries

A tier depends only on the tiers below it; the peripheral surface depends on all of them and is depended on by none. The description column is each crate’s Cargo.toml description, so this table is exactly what cargo metadata reports. The status column is the crate’s package.metadata.pulse-mesh.status: pre-integration for a crate the tree ships but does not use yet (ADR-0014), partial for one in use some of whose public entry points return a deferred error (ADR-0017), blank for one that is finished and wired in.

The fabric (tier 2, mesh/)

CratePathStatusDescription
mesh-basketmesh/mesh-basketPulse Mesh envelope basket: the daemon’s SQLite capture of published envelopes, which pms-query and the MCP server’s tools query by channel, time, type and origin. Tier 2 (the fabric).
mesh-broadcastmesh/mesh-broadcastPulse Mesh BroadcastRegistry + ListenFilter: in-process fan-out of PulseEnvelopes to matching listeners. Tier 2 (the fabric).
mesh-clientmesh/mesh-clientPulse Mesh — the Rust client for the daemon: Mesh, a synchronous handle over the Universal Port Protocol, with endpoint discovery, bounded queues, timed calls and callbacks on a thread of its own. Tier 2 (the fabric).
mesh-healthmesh/mesh-healthPulse Mesh HealthRegistry: per-node heartbeat tracking that escalates a silent node through Healthy → Warning → Restarting → Isolated and reports drift as Degraded. Tier 2 (the fabric).
mesh-hubmesh/mesh-hubPulse Mesh local daemon — terminates the universal port protocol over UDS + WebSocket.
mesh-hub-runtimemesh/mesh-hub-runtimePulse Mesh embedded hub runtime — the event-bus library that mesh-hub (the daemon) wraps.
mesh-linkmesh/mesh-linkPulse Mesh links between daemons, without a transport: qualified origins, interest summaries and their pacing, the forwarding decision, the forward cache, the hop limit and the link’s control messages (ADR-0021). Tier 2 (the fabric).
mesh-module-hubmesh/mesh-module-hubpre-integrationPulse Mesh child-hub abstraction — bridges a node’s internal processing to a parent PulseHub.
mesh-port-protocolmesh/mesh-port-protocolPulse Mesh Universal Port Protocol v0 — the wire types, the payload base64 codec and the Unix-socket framing shared by the daemon and its Rust clients. Tier 2 (the fabric).
mesh-schemamesh/mesh-schemaPulse Mesh schema registry — envelope-type ACLs and producer/consumer relationships.

The dev ring (tier 3, dev_ring/, dev_ring/)

CratePathStatusDescription
dev-coredev_ring/dev-corePulse Mesh — dev_ring core layer: shared types for the ring’s functions and stages. Empty by design; kept so the four-crate shape is uniform.
dev-functionsdev_ring/dev-functionsPulse Mesh — dev_ring functions layer: the basket re-export and the core_ops the pms command line and the MCP server share.
dev-hubdev_ring/dev-hubPulse Mesh — dev_ring hub layer: the ring’s import point; re-exports core, functions and stages, emits the ring manifest via mesh_stage_registry::register_stages!, and re-exports the Rust client (mesh-client) that lived here before ADR-0012.
dev-stagesdev_ring/dev-stagesPulse Mesh — dev_ring stages layer: the symbol-keyed conflation router over a PulseRing.

The peripheral surface (tier peripheral, tools/, examples/)

CratePathStatusDescription
multi-processexamples/multi-processPulse Mesh template — two Rust processes (sender + receiver) over the local mesh-hub daemon.
pms-clitools/pmspms — unified developer CLI for the Pulse Mesh Standard.
pms-mcptools/pms-mcpModel Context Protocol server for the Pulse Mesh Standard. Exposes mesh introspection + the cross-language canonical codec proof to LLM agents.
pms-telemetry-exporttools/pms-telemetry-exportPulse Mesh metrics exporter: Prometheus output for processes running the mesh.
