Programmes

Three places, one sequence

The standard, its proving and its commercial life each have a home. This page says which is which, and how a result moves from one to the next.

The three domains

Where each thing lives

pulse-mesh.net

The product

This site: the primitives, the architecture, the standard and its conformance marks, the documentation of the reference implementation, the use cases and the pilot programme.

theproving.net

The proving

The Proving Grounds: sealed records of measurements, quests with acceptance thresholds, a ledger of hypotheses that keeps its refutations, and the corpus. The benchmarks are published there against a pinned release, and the public challenge to reproduce or refute them is run there. Standing comes from sealed work, not affiliation.

The steward

Sovereignty Foundation Inc.: the standards hub, the working groups, the certification programme, the registry, and the engagement doors for research and for commercial work.

The working group

The Pulse Mesh working group is anchored to the working draft of the standard and forms from the pilots that hold. Its members are the standard’s first commercial partners: the organisations that carry certified distribution, integrate the protocol into larger platforms and, in time, take on the protocol’s optimisation and development within the community the group forms.

The Foundation runs every working group through a transparent, archived process with a defined charter, drawn from more than one institutional context. The Pulse Mesh group is forming; participation opens per the process its charter defines, and the working groups page will describe it when the charter publishes. Until then the working draft can be read, critiqued and implemented independently.

Certification

Three marks attach to implementations, never to organisations, and an implementation claims only the level it was granted: Pulse Mesh Compliant™ for the wire format, Pulse Mesh Certified™ for the wire format and the cryptographic chain, and Pulse Mesh Certified+™ for every requirement. The marks are administered by the Foundation, and no certification programme against the standard is active yet; the conformance vectors and the protocol fixtures that a programme would test against ship with the reference implementation today.

How a result moves

  1. A claim is made here, about a pinned release, in the standard’s terms.
  2. It is sealed and challenged on the Proving Grounds, where anyone can reproduce or refute it.
  3. A pilot repeats it inside a real deployment and seals a record of its own.
  4. The working group at the Foundation takes the records up into the standard, and the certification programme grows out of what the records show.
